메일 클라이언트로부터 보낸 메일을 받아 인증·정책 검사 후 MTA로 전달하는 서버로, 보통 587 포트를 사용한다.
A server that receives outgoing mail from clients, applies authentication and policy checks, and hands it to an MTA, typically over port 587.
